Based on all of its specs, my needs, and some customer reviews I found, I decided to give it a try. This absolutely blows away the Alpine I had. Out of the box, the default settings brought new life to my factory speakers. My amp and sub had disappointed me with the Alpine and I thought I was going to have to replace those at some point. NOPE. The sub sounds great now. The iPod song browsing is the best I've seen and the ability to do it with the remote means pedestrians are safer with me driving. This thing is loaded with features to completely customize the sound including DSP settings specific to the size and type of car you have, optimizations for speaker sizes, position-specific balance controls, and full control over the equalizer (or use the presets if you are a novice like me). The display is incredible and the display color and the faceplate illumination colors can be controlled separately with a variety of combinations available to match your car. This has handsfree bluetooth built in, but I did not opt to have the cable installed in my car at this time. I had to order this online as I could not find it in local stores. Best Buy carries a non-eXcelon model that is similar but costs more and doesn't give the range of controls this one gives you. I couldn't be more satisfied with this product!
